If you are short - high boots only make you look shorter.
If you are short - and not SUPER thin - jeans with thighs that are lightened or bleached - make your thighs look bigger- and you look shorter.
All because it is "in fashion" you don't have to wear it.  You need to remember that the designers weren't thinking of you or the average lass when they designed it. 
 Sorry, but they weren't - they were thinking of a world with sequin rainbows and  unicorns ridden by fair maidens with legs 5ft long and weighing no more that a small child - maybe not a USA child…more third world BMI
